The McLaren MP4-12C, later known simply as the McLaren 12C, is a sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive. It is the first ever production car wholly designed and built by McLaren,  and their first production road car produced since the McLaren F1 , which ended production in 1998.
The basic outlay of the interior on the X-1 is identical to that on the MP4-12C. However, the customer did have it custom-fitted with Harissa Red McLaren Nappa leather on the seats, doors, and roof.
For the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons McLaren Formula 1 drivers and cars will benefit from Renault power. Renault is one of the most successful engine manufacturers in Formula 1, having powered both drivers and constructors to multiple world championships.

When McLaren unveiled its futuristic MP4-X prototype vehicle back in 2015, it wasn’t merely creating a visionary concept car, it was joining the important discussion around future technologies within motorsport, and the need for additional cockpit protection in the wake of a number of serious accidents.
The doors have a pure carbon fiber weave. The engine cover is a billet piece that was milled down to the work of art you see on the car. It is MP4-12C-based, which is apparent in the interior.
